President Bush’s original reasons for attacking Iraq
By Richard Rhone, Contributing Writer
Mr. President
It appears that the world has forgotten your original reasons for the coalition of the willing attacking Iraq. I clearly remember after the conclusion of a press conference, and as you were leaving the podium at the White House, a reporter asked you what your reasons for the attack were. Your clear responses were that Saddam tried to kill your father and that this was a crusade. Those reasons and others, including the suspicion of weapons of mass destruction and regime change, have resulted in the deaths of more than six hundred thousand innocent defenseless Iraqis, the displacement of two million refugees, the death of more than 3,000 coalition force members, and the injury of 20,000 Americans. And let us not forget the 3,000 deaths as a result of September 11, 2001.
Sir, I remind you again that you had other alternatives at your disposal i.e you could have decided to act on the proof that I provided you regarding a white-collar crime of historical proportions. You have had the proof of this crime and did absolutely nothing about it.
I respectfully suggest that you prepare yourself for the inevitable questions that will you will be asked regarding the above. You are not alone in ignoring this crime. As you know, the current and past Prime Ministers of Canada, the current and former Ministers of Justice, the present and past ministers of Foreign Affairs, Oprah and all of the Talking heads of the media - all knew and did nothing.
These crimes were also known by members of the Canadian and American Senates, by more than 80% of the Canadian House of Commons and, finally, the international legal community and members of the European Parliament. Sir, I strongly suggest that the reputations and careers of the above are worth saving, and only you can accomplish this end.
Sir, once the media investigate and verify that you in fact justified the attack on Iraq based on the above, your legacy will be that of the worst President ever, and the leaders of the coalition and Oprah will join the rest of the world in condemning American Foreign policy, in general, and you, in particular. Mr. President, invite Prime Minister and Oprah to help right this Wrong.
