Beirut, Lebanon - Why is there so much difference in the world? Why are some people rich and others poor? How do people cope with all this unfairness? Is it mere luck or is it our own choices that build up who we are?
Being born in a wealthy family of course makes it easier to be wealthy as an adult. But decisions about education, work, marriage, children and saving also matter, and these interact with each other in complex ways to create trajectories. The paths people take are also a product of circumstances and influences that individuals do not directly control but that impede or enhance these trajectories.
Some people are bitter and hate life and God for creating this imbalance. But the fact is that God is not behind these imbalances, humans are! Some families used their brains, developed, got rich and passed it on many generations after them. Others were careless so now their families are poor and apparently have the same attitude as their ancestors.
It also depends on the government of the country one lives in. For example, in countries like Canada and America there isn’t that huge imbalance. There are human rights, minimum wages, community shelters and laws that apply to all so that to minimize this huge gap. Whereas in India and other third world countries, there is more than 50% of the population who sleeps on the streets with no shelter at all and others who live in marvelous castles.
There are several factors as to why people are unequal in many aspects in life, but the thing is that if people will just sit there sobbing and blaming life to what it hasn’t offered them, it will just get worse. As long as we are in good health, it is our duty to work hard and step up to a better level. God will only help the ones who help themselves and life is only what you make out of it.
