Beirut, Lebanon - A middle aged man with an average income speaks

“Hello sir, how are you?”
“I am fine, tired but fine.”
“What are you tired from?”
“I am tired from living in a country that does not appreciate its citizens.”
“Why do you say that?”
“Well, we are living in a country full of fraud and theft.”
“I agree! How about the presidential elections?”
“As a matter of fact, I do not really care who will be elected for president as long as he is respectable, curative and, most importantly, a person who can take action whenever a situation occurs. You see, all our population is living in poverty. What we need is a president that will help us live in better conditions. This is what we need: a good living! The Lebanese were always known for their dignity and pride. Nevertheless, we feel that the state does not like us... Regardless of the presence of other natives in the country, if it does not respect us, then how can strangers do?”
“So you are not with the renewal of president Lahoud’s term?”
“Of course I am; he is the best president that came to our country till today; those last years were better than ever!”

“Are you sure?”
“Yes. Since Lahoud was elected president, we have not heard any bullet blasts; thanks to him, Lebanon is now stable. Although it suffers from a lack of efficiency and effectiveness, I think that everything happens alone in time.”
“What do you mean by that?”
“I am saying that it is not the fault of the president; it is the fault of the atmosphere around him, the ones surrounding him; they are thieves.”
“So you are thankful that he is staying for three more years?”
“Of course I am.”
“Thank you sir for your time.”
“Ahla.”
